Now we’re getting more into the meat and bones of Heilkunst Medicine. The Constitutions are what every one of our patients love as it is a real window into their personality and characteristics. When we’re asking questions of patients at their Initial Consultation, we will ask them, ‘Do you prefer hot or cold foods?’ or ‘Do you prefer to be with people or more alone?’ or ‘Are you meatier in body structure or more long and leggy?’ or ‘Do you think more in pictures or in linear text?’
This line of questioning starts to help us drill down to discern whether the person is more EQ (emotional) or IQ (intellectual) as well as whether they are more in the upper or lower triad of constitutions. This simply means, do you assume most of your power from the cosmic, more refined, spherical thinking pole or are you more earth-fed with gestures that speak of your grounding, thrust and robust energy?
The more plant-like Constitutions like Pulsatilla and Lycopodium can have more variable traits while the remaining ‘mineral types’ will have a more constant nature. When a patient takes their “Constitutional Remedy” it will bolster their health, give them an upswing of emotional and physical strength and vigor.
In the Classical paradigm of Homeopathy, any remedy is considered a “Constitutional Type.” Heilkunst principles disagree, limiting the genotypes to only 6 natural healthy types, as illustrated in forthcoming chapters, as well as the 6 phenotypes, which are constitutional states under stress or trauma. In well over a decade of practice, we have clinically verified this model, as we have participated these types and how they tend to express both health and disease in their life.
